Behind the scenes: Steven Van den Bremt

Engineering bureau Artori was founded in 2016 as a passion project by Steven Van den Bremt and Inge Demuynck. As Product Development Director, Steven oversees the creative and technical backbone of Artori.

Where are his roots? What does Artori mean to him? And how does he see the future?

From tinkerer to independent product design studio

As a young boy, Steven was fascinated by drawing and tinkering. With Lego Technic, he consistently chose to create his own designs rather than blindly following the instructions. Studying industrial engineering was therefore a natural next step. He opted for the (then) brand-new programme in industrial design engineering — the perfect marriage between engineering and design-driven disciplines. It was there that the very first seeds of Artori were planted.

Approaching 40, and with years of experience under his belt, the time was right to start his own design studio. Not just another name in the field, but something different: no beautiful design without solid engineering to support it.

“Developing products that are both feasible and market-ready. That’s where we make the difference at Artori — and it’s been my dream all along.”

Artori: dedication and passion

Artori is a reflection of who Inge and Steven are. The why behind Artori mirrors their way of working and what they aim to mean for their clients: a dedicated team that guides them with genuine passion through the realisation of a new product. A team every client can trust — without hesitation.

That is why clients choose Artori. No empty promises, but solid, hands-on guidance focused on delivering a strong and refined end result.

Steven Van den Bremt:

“The greatest compliment I ever received from a new client came through a referral by one of our partners: if you want it done right, you go to Artori.”

Continued growth with a lasting focus on the five-step product development process

Within the next two years, Artori aims to grow into a team of five experienced designers, while maintaining a strong focus on the five design steps the engineering bureau offers today. Artori strives to be a reference for start-ups and companies looking to turn bold ideas into feasible and market-ready products — and is well on its way to realising that ambition.

All of this with a healthy work–life balance. Together with Inge, Steven enjoys long walks with their dogs — the perfect moment to reset and reconnect with nature. Playing his guitar and working out five days a week provide the oxygen he needs to steer Artori into the future, side by side with Inge.
