Rotation moulding

Rotation moulding is a technique for the manufacturing of hollow products in small to middle-sized series. For rotation moulding we use cast aluminium moulds or moulds made out of sheet steel.

Step 1: We fill the mould with plastic powder and close it.

Step 2: We rotate the mould both around its vertical and its horizontal axis and heat it in an oven or by means of flames, so that the plastic melts and is evenly distributed against the wall of the mould.

Step 3: We take the mould out of the oven or remove the flames. The mould keeps rotating to cool down in the air.

Step 4: When it has cooled down, we open the mould and remove the product.

Step 5: If desired, we provide the product with holes or openings by means of CNC milling.
